How Pro-Vas Works

Pro-Vas is a male birth control procedure for the prevention of pregnancy. The simple procedure is typically performed in your doctor's office in less than 15 minutes. Most men resume their normal activities in less than one day.
The Pro-Vas clip is pre-loaded into an applier that a physician uses to apply the clip to your sperm duct. The small implantable, permanent clip uses a titanium torsion spring to apply continuous force onto the vas, stopping the flow of sperm and rendering you sterile (unable to father children)

Post-operative patient instructions and follow-up are similar to a vasectomy. Most patients are sterile within 3-months and at least 20 ejaculations confirmed by a semen analysis. During this period patients must continue to use another form of birth control.
